Delight #004 – Birthday Cake

I can’t imagine celebrating my birthday without birthday cake.

Preferably moist vanilla sponge topped with buttercream frosting and some decorations on top made of blobs of more buttercream frosting. Vanilla ice cream is optional. I don’t know what it is, but that is hands down my favorite kind of celebration cake. Perhaps that makes me a vanilla kind of guy, but I love it. My wife is a chocolate fan and she regularly tries to convince me vanilla is not a flavor, to which I always retort, it says “vanilla flavoring” right on the bottle, so it MUST be a flavor!

FYI, I’m definitely willing to celebrate your birthday with you if you are having birthday cake. Having birthday cake just once per year simply is not enough for me. My inner child is already upset I don’t have birthday cake more often. Reality, calorie counts and my doctor have ensured there are limits.

Turns out there are lot of things my inner child thought I’d be doing more of as an adult and he isn’t too happy about any of those either.
